Creating a brand identity takes quite a bit of work — but the result is worth it.

How To Create A Brand Identity

Tell Your Story

You know your company better than anyone, so who better to tell its story? Share your company’s story whenever you can, especially if you are just starting out. If you get the word out about your business, it is a great way to spark interest in your product or service.

Know the Audience

Do you know who your target audience is? It does not matter what the product or service your business offers, what matters is getting your message in front of the people most likely to buy from you. It will, however, take a bit of time and research to narrow down your audience. Once you complete this task, you should have a pretty good idea of who you need to reach.

Reach and Connect to Your Audience

When you find out who your audience is, the next step is to reach that target audience. For instance, say a large portion of your target audience demographic is men aged 65-plus. If you do some research on where this demographic regularly gets information, you will be able to get your message in front of them. If your target demographic spends the majority of its time on a platform like Twitter, then your marketing efforts need to be tailored to these interests and go live when this group is most likely to be online.

Promote Your Business the Old-Fashioned Way

Despite the innovations in technology for virtual meetings, “hitting the pavement” is still one of the best ways to reach your audience. Take your business campaign out to the streets, and hand out flyers and business cards at local events. This will help to put you on people’s networking radar for future events and possible new connections.

Build an Eye-Catching Website

Most consumers today will check out a company’s website before they stop in your store or office. That first impression your customer will get of that website will reflect on your business.  Before you officially open your doors, take your time and build a strong website. When new potential customers visit your website, you want the layout to be clean and visually appealing. The customers should be able to easily navigate their way around your site and be encouraged to explore it more fully. You should have important pieces of information about your business such as your location, contact information, and hours in an easy-to-find place on the page. Be sure to have all your business’s social media links included on your website. This enables website users to like and share your business page once they have visited, and encourage them to share their positive experience.
